METAL FUEL FILTER : METAL FUEL
Metal Fuel Filter : Application Of Low Pass Filter
Metal Fuel Filter
- A unit placed in a fuel line to remove dirt and rust picked up from the tank or service fittings.
- A replaceable metal or plastic canister that prevents particulate matter and most contaminants in the fuel from reaching the engine.
- Broken stone for use in making roads
- metallic: containing or made of or resembling or characteristic of a metal; "a metallic compound"; "metallic luster"; "the strange metallic note of the meadow lark, suggesting the clash of vibrant blades"- Ambrose Bierce
- A solid material that is typically hard, shiny, malleable, fusible, and ductile, with good electrical and thermal conductivity (e.g., iron, gold, silver, copper, and aluminum, and alloys such as brass and steel)
- metallic element: any of several chemical elements that are usually shiny solids that conduct heat or electricity and can be formed into sheets etc.
- Gold and silver (as tinctures in blazoning)
- cover with metal
This is the 302 engine swap from my first F-100 pickup truck. I think I put in a new cam, but I can't remember clearly. Headers for sure, with 2" dual exhaust pipes flowing out of "Cherry Bomb" mufflers.
Swapping a six for an eight small block requires new metal "motor mount" support struts,
An MSD ignition box, distributor, and coil. Metallic over braid fuel line and Earl's ( I think) fuel filter. Holley 650 CFM carb.
I'm pretty sure I replaced the timing chain cover with an aftermarket replacement, which was hard to find. I replaced the timing chain with an aftermarket gear set-up.
Installed a "one wire" alternator.
Morose valve covers and trick breather filter.
The original engine was a straight six, and so the flywheel had to be replaced to match the 302. Edelbrock intake manifold, water pump, and fuel pump.
You can't see the oil line cooler, but it's there.
Ford aftermarket air cleaner.
I did extensive re-wiring, but not as much as on my second F-100.
The last modification was installing roller rocker arms.
The great folly was starting off with a USED 302, instead of a brand new one. I threw a rod driving southbound on I5 one night.
I had high hopes of replacing the 302 with a 351 Windsor, but that project never happened...
I parted out this truck, and had it towed away for scrap.
Fram G4164 fuel filter
The Fram G4164 is the *ONLY* fuel filter we recommend and use. We have tried many, from sintered metal to plastic and wire mesh, and a variety of paper filters. Only paper filters can remove the vast majority of the fine "powder" rust that one finds in older fuel tanks, and only the Fram can fit such a wide variety of motorcycles without starving them for fuel or having other issues.
